In Germany, coal mining was one of the most important industry sectors in the 1960s. Coal was mostly burned in power stations to generate electricity. So it’s no wonder that most collieries needed large platforms to further transport coal. This special train set remembers this important industry in Germany and honours the closure of the last two collieries in the country.
