Pre-Order McK3502 DSB BDan 50 86 82-76 612-8

As a natural supplement to the Bn wagons, DSB acquired in 1972 14 pcs. pure 1st class carriages for Zealand's regional traffic.
The wagons were given the letter An, and immediately resembled the Bn wagons, with two doors on each side placed approx. in the third points.
The external dimensions of the car bodies were the same on both types of car, but when the number of seats in the An carriages was 64, against 80 in the Bn carriages, there were two fewer windows on each side, and at the same time the doors had been moved towards the ends.
The wagons were used up through the seventies and in the first half of the eighties primarily on the Coastal Line, where, however, other types of 1st class wagons were also used, as the only 14 An wagons meant that there were not enough wagons in relation to the number of tribes in trip.
But it was rare that there were enough passengers in 1st class to fill an entire wagon, so in the late eighties the steering wagons of letter Bns were rebuilt to ABns and ADns, respectively, a conversion which among other things meant that these wagons got a 1st class -department.
The many extra wagons with 1st class department that appeared, fully covered the need for 1st class in Zealand's regional traffic, and the 14 An wagons were therefore in surplus.
In 1991, all 14 wagons were therefore converted to 2nd class wagons with luggage space. The conversion consisted largely of removing the 4 times 4 seats at one end of the carriage, thereby losing 16 seats, but in return, in the spirit of the times, you got a large flex room that could be used for bicycles, among other things.
The carriages were then given the letter BDan, and were decorated on the outside with bicycles along the entire length of the flex department, no less than four bicycles on each side, it was created.
This is how the wagons drove to approx. 1997 where they were taken out of service.
Most of the wagons were subsequently sold to Iran.
All 14 An-wagons were delivered design red with white Helvetica inscriptions, and they had the wagon numbers 600-613 both in the An-time and after the conversion to BDan.
