Polystyrene is a widely used, thermoplastic (thermally deformable) plastic that is very suitable for model construction because it is easy to is to be treated and processed. It can be scored very easily with a cutter and simply "broken" at the same point. The individual components can be "cold welded" with the aid of dispersion adhesives.
