The early models of the Prussian express train cars are examples for the design principles used at that time. Since 1909 a departure was made step by step from the Prussian control turntable unit. The chassis of the car rested on American-style turntable units, the so-called swan-neck turntable units. The early models were some of the first Prussian cars to receive these turntable units. The car box consisted of wood, which was clad with sheet.
