Since May 8 2018, the Vectron locomotives of the ČD started to haul EuroCity trains from Prague to the railway stations of the capital city of Berlin and the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Operationally, this has big advantages, as there is no need to change the locomotives any more. Even the city of Kiel became part of the train network and can now be reached with the EC "Porta Bohemia".
