Pre-Order McK1506 DSB Gbs 01 86 150 0 098-3

In 1985, DSB bought 100 used freight wagons in the Netherlands, built in 1962-63.
The wagons had a wooden wagon box, and received from DSB the letter Gbs, exactly as they had had in the Netherlands, and the wagons were put into operation in Denmark without significant repair.
They thus retained the traditional brown freight car color, but were generally somewhat variegated to look at, after various major or minor repairs over time.
The wagons looked in many ways like an extended Gs wagon, with a wheelbase of as much as 8.0 m.
But they had a slightly flatter roof than the Gs wagons, and were a slightly clumsy wagon to look at.
The slightly clumsy and disharmonious appearance was reinforced by the fact that the wagons had the large "DSB" placed very low, as the logo was placed on the boards where the Dutch state railways logo had previously been painted, and where the wagons still had to be stained.
The vast majority of the wagons were in operation at DSB until around the turn of the millennium.

The models

The model basically consists of a cast metal base and a car body made of plastic, and is subsequently built up of many loosely manufactured parts of both metal and plastic.
The carriages have, among other things, resilient elephant buffers made of brass, etched corner steps, metal handrails and a richly detailed braking system.
There were only a few differences in the 100 wagons that came to Denmark, and all the six wagons produced are therefore the same, except for the wagon number.
In connection with this project, McK has entered into an OEM agreement with the Dutch company Exact-train, so that McK delivers a larger number of Gbs wagons in Dutch version to this company.
