Pre-Order McK2106 DSB Q 350

In the period 1930-1945, DSB acquired 15 large shunting locomotives of letter Q, all built by Frichs in Aarhus.
The locomotives were delivered in two series, in 1930-1931 Q 337-341 came, and in 1943-1945 Q 342-351 followed.
There were certain differences between the first and second series, including the size and shape of the coal and water boxes, as well as the puffs.
The four-coupled Q-machines were used almost exclusively on the ranger mountains at Copenhagen's Godsbanegård (Gb), in Århus, in Fredericia and in Padborg, and were therefore relatively anonymous, compared with various other of DSB's steam locomotives.
Despite the modest maximum speed, the Q-machines were also used to a modest extent for long-distance driving, e.g. the Gb machines were used for periods on the freight connecting line, just as there are examples of the Ar machines exchanging wagons in Brabrand.
There was not much moving around with the Q machines during their lifetime.
Thus Q 340-344 spent pretty much all their active lives on Gb, Q 345-349 were pretty much just as faithful in Aarhus, and Q 350-351 in Fredericia. Q 337-339 was usually in either Fredericia or Padborg, however, Q 338 ended its active career in Aarhus, otherwise with the last day of operation on Saturday 14 March 1964, where it had the job of "coal farm machine" at the machine depot.
In general, the Q-machines gradually became redundant up through the sixties, in connection with the delivery of the 120 MH locomotives.
Nevertheless, the last Q machines were not finally taken out of service until 1969-70, and the Q machines were thus among the steam locomotives that survived the longest.

The models

Chassis, boiler and lower part of the cab cast in metal, chimney turned in brass.
Detailed walking gear, cast in metal.
Spring-loaded buffers, steps of etched metal, and handrails and balusters of metal wire.
Detailed interior and driver's seat, with low-lying floor.
Lights in the cab, and sparkling LED lights in the lighthouse.
ESU Glockanker motor, and ESU lokPilot or lokSound.
All models also come with twice four loose turntables with different numbers that can be hung on the sides of the locomotive. These boards indicated which shunting trip the locomotive was running that day, and the boards had different appearances from depot to depot.
The locomotives are delivered with boards that match where it belonged, and the numbers on the boards match which trips the Q-machines, among other things, drove.

Variants, numbers and status

Various changes were made to the Q machines over time, including in terms of brake equipment and lighting.
All models are made in the latest known version, ie with compressed air brake and electric lighting.
It is not known exactly when these conversions were carried out on all machines, so whether the six different Q machines produced have all looked like this from 1950 as stated below is therefore without guarantee. That alone is a qualified guess.
