information about prototype: In November 2019, the Locomotive Workshop Rotterdam (LWR), a joint venture between Siemens Mobility and Mitsui Rail Capital Europe (MRCE), was opened in Rotterdam-Maasvlakte. The MRCE Vectron X4 E-717 received a special design for the occasion. The strategically-favourable location of the new maintenance shop at the end of several European freight transport corridors made it possible to plan the necessary locomotive service stops long-term. Inspection and maintenance work were carried out in the service shop.
