Pre-Order McK0214 DSB Hbis 42 86 225 0 493-7

The Hbis wagons were delivered to DSB in the period 1970-1975, in 630 copies.
The wagons originally had the operating numbers 211 5 000-211 5 629, and were delivered in four series, with a number of more or less visible differences.
Series 1 and 4 had shorter distances between the vertical gable profiles than series 2 and 3, and different types of shunting hooks, corner steps and handrails were used. Furthermore, the first three series had screw brakes, the last series did not.
Like so much other railroad equipment, the Hbis wagons changed appearance over time. They are delivered with silver-colored sliding walls, a gray roof and DIN writing, and when DSB changed the design around 1974, the Hbis wagons subsequently had both new inscriptions and a large "DSB" painted on them.
After a few years, the sliding walls gradually appeared in the same brown color as the rest of the carriage, and in the late eighties, part of the carriages were rented out to Post Danmark, and a yellow post logo was affixed in this connection.

The models

The model basically consists of a cast metal base and a car body made of plastic, and is subsequently made up of many loosely manufactured parts in both metal and plastic.
The carriages have, among other things, resilient buffers made of brass, etched corner steps, handrails made of metal wire and a richly detailed braking system.
The models all have a short distance between the gable profiles (building series 1 and 4), but are otherwise supplied with different corner steps, handrails and shunting hooks, as well as with or without a screw brake, all depending on the operating number.
Initially, 14 different operating numbers will be issued, divided into the four versions described above, as well as the art carriages with keys and scissors, respectively.

It is planned to make the wagons with a long distance between the corner profiles at a later date (building series 2 and 3, with the wagon numbers 100-329), together with correct versions of the art Hbis wagons that are not made in the first instance, e.g. the two “Grand Danois wagons”, which were of construction series 3 (209) and construction series 4 (478), respectively

Variants, numbers and status

As mentioned above, the Hbis wagons were different in terms of e.g. screw brake, corner steps, handrails and ferry hooks, depending on the construction series and thus the car number.

The vehicle numbers 000-329 (construction series 1-3) had a screw brake, small ferry hooks, and a small step in each corner with only one suspension. Furthermore, they had a handrail in each corner, as well as end signal holders and two horizontal handrails on the ends.

The car numbers 330-629 (construction series 4) had no screw brake, larger ferry hooks with a yellow protective bar around, and then they had a strong corner step with two suspensions. They had no handrails on the corners, but in return a vertical bar on the right sliding door almost out of the corner.

The same differences are found on the models, so from the above, you can see exactly how the individual wagons in the following overview are configured. (on all DSB carriages with UIC numbers, the carriage number itself is 9th, 10th and 11th digit, regardless of letter)
