BLS purchased Talbot-type truck-loading cars in three batches between 1990 and 2004. The first series was still delivered with square roofs. Subsequent deliveries from 1996 onwards received the characteristic round roofs. The cars from the first series were later refurbished and also fitted with round roofs, so that all cars now have standardized roofs. To complete the composition, 4 BDt carriages (942-945) were ordered simultaneously from Schindler in Pratteln. The carriages were later renumbered (956-959). The driver's cabs were largely based on those of the RBDe 4/4 trainsets. The carriages are equipped for remote control by Re 4/4 and Ae 4/4. The trains are composed as follows:
control car, ramp car, loading car (6-14 units), ramp car, ramp car, locomotive.
