Prototype:
Between 1990 and 2004, the BLS procured Talbot-type car-carrying wagons in three batches. The first series was delivered with square roofs. Subsequent deliveries from 1996 onwards received the characteristic rounded roofs. Later, the wagons of the first series were refurbished and also fitted with rounded roofs, so that all wagons now have uniform roofs. To complete the sets, four BDt control cars (942-945) were simultaneously ordered from Schindler in Pratteln. These cars were later numbered (956-959). The driver's cabs were largely based on those of the RBDe 4/4 railcars. The control cars are equipped for remote control by Re 4/4 and Ae 4/4 locomotives.
